2018 Mini Stock Rules
The following specifications have been prepared by Path Valley Speedway Park as guidelines for the construction of a Modified Mini Stock. No warranty of safety is expressed or implied as a result of this publication of rules. These are intended as a guide and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to participants, spectators, or officials. Anything not covered by these specifications should be approved by the track officials and placed in writing. Continuous developments in auto racing and technology may mandate changes in these rules throughout the season. If a change is necessary, technical bulletins will be prepared and distributed in advance.

Self-starting vehicles must start on their own for the initial green of their race or they will start last.

ELIGIBLE MODELS:
Any year car such as a Gremlin, Vega, Toyota, Plymouth Arrow, Dodge Colt, Pinto, etc. 
NO Trans-Am, Camaro, convertibles, roadsters or station wagons allowed. 
NO front wheel drive or rear engine vehicles. 
Minimum weight of 2350 pounds, maximum is 2550 lbs. (Weight is LB. per CC)
Maximum wheelbase of 102” and minimum of 96”.
Sheet metal replacement parts, no lighter than 18 gauge, are allowed but must be as close to stock as possible in appearance.

BODIES:
  • The only round tubing permitted is on roll cages and door bar. All other supports must be box tubing.
  • Sheet metal or aluminum. 
  • All doors and/or hatches must be welded shut and all glass removed. 
  • All windshields must have a minimum of five solid bars with a minimum diameter of 3/8” and must be welded from the crossbar in the dash to the top, front bar of the roll cage. 
  • Battery must be completely enclosed in a battery box with lid and bolted securely.
  • If rub rails are used, they must be placed against the body between the front and rear renders. All rub rails are to start and end inside the body panels. Rub rails will not have any sharp edges. 
  • Removable rails are permitted as long as they bolt to the roll cage on the inside of the body. Maximum diameter is 1 ½”. 
  • One hoop behind the front bumper will be allowed. It must be neat in appearance. 
  • Full front and rear firewall (all holes must be covered). Full floorboards (factory) are mandatory. FRONT AND REAR firewalls and floorboards must be factory and in original position.  
  • All interior sheet metal must not extend beyond body. 
  • No rear-view mirrors. 
  • Rear of car may be left open. 8” spoilers off of deck. 
  • Nose and tail may be plastic. 
  • Interior boxing allowed. 
  • If there is a hole in the hood, a metal guard 1/8” higher than air cleaner must be installed between hole and driver. 
  • If your car loses any body part while on the track, including bumper, you must leave the track for that event. 
  • Bumpers must be 2” x 2” front and rear with no sharp edges. 
  • Unmodified roof lines may use upper air shield. 
  • BODIES MUST BE SIMILAR TO STOCK MAKE & MODEL - THIS IS A STOCK CAR CLASS, MAKE THEM LOOK STOCK.

ROLL CAGE:
  • The only round tubing permitted is on roll cages and door bar. All other supports must be box tubing.
  • 2” x 2” frame minimum frame boxing (four sides) to tie in front frame with rear sub-frame on all cars. 
  • Each car must have a full roll cage that includes a center roof bar. 
  • Minimum of 4 bars on driver’s side and 3 bars on passenger side. 
  • Full “X” brace required behind the driver’s seat and a lateral bar from the front cage base of the right frame channel to a point in the center of the “X” brace, at approximately a 25 degree to a 45 degree angle. 
  • Roll cage seamless with .095 OD minimum. 
All points must be welded. Roll cage must be welded to sub frame. 

SUSPENSION:
Suspension may be modified with racing springs, struts, weight jacks and shocks. Four shocks and springs must be mounted in original position.( 9” shocks) Rear spring clamps or bolts are permitted to stop spring loss. Stock trailing arms in the stock location and the steering rack must stay stock. No chains may be connected from body or frame to rear.

REAR: 
Stock, unaltered rear, which may be locked. NO aluminum drive shafts. Driveshaft must be painted white. NO changing of housing. No traction control of any kind.

BRAKES:
After-market master cylinder allowed, but must be comparable to factory equipment. Three wheel sliding brakes permitted, no inside adjustment.

WHEELS AND TIRES:
  • Maximum 8” x 13” wheels (1/2” allowance for beadlock, maximum of 8 ½”) and 8” tires allowed. 
  • Race tires are permitted. 
  • Stock wheels must be reinforced. Approved race wheels will be permitted, but must be steel. 
  • Oversize lug nuts are mandatory. 
  • Wheel spacers with oversize studs are permitted. 
  • Maximum width of vehicle will be 74”, measured from outside of left tire to outside of right tire.

BUMPERS:
2” square tubing or 1 ½” round pipe. All exposed metal bumpers must have a skid plate bolted to each end of the bumper and secured to the fenders. Tow hooks must be visible to the tow truck operator and be strong enough to support the vehicle.

FUEL:
All exposed gas lines on interior of car must be covered. Fuel cells are mandatory and must be a 12 gallon maximum gasoline only. 
NO fuel additives allowed. 
Fuel cells must be in steel box in trunk. 
If using an electric fuel pump, it must be wired with oil pressure switch. 
Cam-2 fuel is permitted.

ENGINES:
  • CAR WEIGHT IS POUND PER CC, MINIMUM 2,300 - MAXIMUM 2,550
  • Stock blocks only.
  • Factory engines stock production and must match car brand for brand. NO ENGINE SET BACK! Must be mounted in stock position any piston, rod and/or crankshaft combination possible! NO aluminum rods. 
  • Max bore allowance is .040”. No aftermarket blocks. No tall blocks and no SVO blocks!
  • No aluminum heads, or roller cams are allowed
  • Stock cast crank. No aluminum

CLUTCH:
All cars must have 1/8” steel plate or mine belt above the bell housing. Factory bell housing is mandatory and housing must have inspection hold. Inspection hole must be 1” x 3” from the starter ring to the transmission at the bottom of the bell. All drive train components must remain stock including clutches. Two driveshaft loops mandatory and must completely encircle the driveline and be attached to the frame rails. Loops must be no more than 8” from rear of front universal and 8” from front of rear universal. Path Valley Speeedway Park, LLC, will not be responsible for injuries or damages caused by flywheel explosions, etc. Flywheel specifications are a minimum of 13 lbs. Racing clutch may be used.  Aluminum flywheel permitted, but no flex plate or couplers.
Two driveshaft loops mandatory and must completely encircle the driveline and be attached to the frame rails. Loops must be no more than 8” from rear of front universal and 8” from front of rear universal. 

IGNITION:
After-market distributors and coils are permitted. No MSD boxes, or equivalent, allowed.
Rev limiter is required, 8200 chip, Soft Touch Rev Control #8728 only.
No traction control.

SAFETY:
Approved helmet (minimum SA2010) with face shield is mandatory. Neck braces are required. Race approved, 5-point minimum racing belts in good condition with one release for all belts required. Safety belts must be mounted to roll cage. Fire resistant driver’s suit is mandatory and must meet track specifications. Fire extinguisher, 12 oz. minimum, is mandatory. It must be securely mounted for quick access. Race approved driver’s side full containment window net is mandatory. All weights must be securely bolted with lock nuts, double nuts or nuts with cotter keys. Weights must be painted white and have car number painted on them. Race seats are mandatory. All seats must be mounted to roll cage, located in front of doorpost and to the left of drive shaft tunnel.

LETTERING:
All cars must be presentable in bodywork, craftsmanship and paint. The car numbers must be clearly displayed on the roof and BOTH doors at all times. Number must be no less than 18” tall and 2” wide. If a letter is used, it must be 9” x 2” minimum. A plate with a minimum 6“ number will be required on the right-hand corner of headlight. No reflective lettering. Lettering must be outlined and legible (if the scorers can’t read your number, you won’t be scored).

Anything not covered in these rules will be left to the discretion of the tech and track officials, without recourse from drivers or owners. Safety infractions can be cause for a car to be kept out of competition until they have been corrected. The preceding rules are subject to revision and will be judged accordingly.
